Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system

Detects sudden movements of a second vehicle ahead in the same lane, alerting the driver of a potential risk of a forward collision

When driving on expressways, sudden deceleration by a second vehicle ahead, or sudden vehicle lane changes can revealing hidden dangers ahead. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning notifies the driver using an indicator and audible alert to reduce the risk of a forward collision.

System operation

The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system uses a radar sensor located in the front of the vehicle to detect the distances between the two cars ahead, as well as their relative speed. This allows the system to assess the situation in front of the vehicle. If the system determines that the vehicle needs to slow down due to a sudden change with the vehicles ahead, it prompts the driver by blinking the vehicle ahead detection indicator and sounding an audible alert.

System mechanism

The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system uses a radar sensor located behind the lower grille below the front bumper to measure the distance to a second vehicle ahead in the same lane. The system operate at speeds above approximately 4.8 km/h.
